Description Sunlight Batteries USA is seeking a business-oriented Associate General Counsel, US Operations to serve as the primary legal advisor supporting all US activities. This role partners closely with executive leadership to provide practical, solutions-focused legal guidance that supports business growth, operational excellence, and compliance across Sunlight's expanding US manufacturing and commercial footprint. This is a high-impact leadership role offering direct visibility to senior leadership and meaningful influence on strategic decisions. Key Responsibilities Serve as the lead legal advisor for all US operations, supporting multiple facilities and business functions Partner closely with the US CEO and leadership team to provide counsel on strategic and operational initiatives Provide legal support across key areas, including: Commercial contracts and agreements, Employment and labor matters, Regulatory, compliance, and EHS considerations within manufacturing environments Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of agreements, including customer, supplier, logistics, and service contracts Identify legal risks and deliver practical, business-focused solutions aligned with company objectives Manage and oversee external legal counsel, including engagement strategy and legal spend Support development and execution of compliance programs aligned with global standards and policies Advise on disputes, claims, and litigation matters, working with internal stakeholders and external partners as needed Collaborate with global legal leadership to ensure alignment, governance consistency, and best practices Support a culture of ethical business practices and regulatory compliance across US operations Qualifications Required Qualifications Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited institution Active license to practice law in at least one US jurisdiction 8+ years of legal experience, including experience supporting business operations Demonstrated experience in: Commercial contracting and negotiations, Employment and labor law Providing legal guidance in operational environments Ability to operate effectively in a hands-on, standalone legal role Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and advise senior leadership Proven ability to balance legal risk with business priorities Preferred Qualifications In-house legal experience within manufacturing, industrial, energy, or highly regulated industries Experience supporting multi-site or geographically dispersed operations Familiarity with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations Experience working within global or multinational organizations Track record of building or enhancing compliance programs Key Competencies Business-minded and pragmatic decision-making Strong stakeholder partnership and executive presence Sound judgment in balancing legal risk and operational needs Adaptability in dynamic, growth-oriented environments High level of integrity and accountability
