The Kaufman Dolowich Hackensack office—part of a nationally recognized law firm with more than 250 attorneys nationwide—is seeking a Professional Liability / Employment Associate Attorney to join our growing and highly regarded litigation practice. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside experienced litigators on sophisticated professional liability and employment matters in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. Our attorneys receive meaningful hands-on experience, direct client interaction, and strong mentorship while representing professionals, businesses, insurers, and employers in a broad range of complex litigation matters. Associates are given the opportunity to take an active role in all phases of litigation, including case strategy, motion practice, depositions, court appearances, mediations, and trial preparation. The ideal candidate will be a motivated attorney who is eager to develop litigation skills, assume increasing responsibility, and build a successful long-term practice within a growing national law firm.
Responsibilities:
Manage a litigation caseload from inception through resolution Take and defend depositions Draft and respond to written discovery Prepare substantive and discovery-related motions Participate in court appearances, oral arguments, mediations, settlement conferences, and other litigation proceedings Handle employment litigation matters, including workplace disputes, administrative proceedings, and employment-related claims Represent professionals, businesses, and insurers in professional liability matters Communicate directly with clients and provide strategic guidance and regular case updates Collaborate closely with attorneys across offices and practice groups on complex litigation matters
Qualifications:
Admission to practice in New Jersey required Minimum of 3 years of litigation experience Experience in professional liability, employment litigation, insurance defense, or other complex civil litigation preferred Strong writing, research, analytical, and communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced litigation environment Strong organizational, case management, and interpersonal skills
