The ideal candidate will have excellent legal research and writing skills, an entrepreneurial spirit, and be self-directed and detail oriented. Candidates must be able to organize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. We are looking for someone who is hungry to learn, takes ownership in their work, and is committed to mastering both written and oral advocacy skills.
Responsibilities:
The candidate will support personal injury cases with the oversight of other attorneys in the practice. Responsibilities will include intensive legal research and writing, developing discovery strategies and drafting discovery materials, interacting with both potential and existing clients, preparing for and eventually conducting depositions, drafting and responding to pleadings, motions and discovery requests, developing litigation strategies and themes, retaining and working with experts, actively preparing cases for trial under the mentorship of experienced trial attorneys and supporting those attorneys at trial. Qualifications:
1-3 years of experience Personal injury experience is a plus New Jersey appellate clerkship is a plus Fluency in a second language is a plus The candidate should excel in the following areas: Advanced legal analysis and issue-spotting High-quality legal research and persuasive drafting of pleadings, discovery, and motions Written and verbal communication skills Attention to detail and accuracy Client relations Commitment to team culture Independent problem solver The candidate should possess a high level of attention to detail and accuracy, a demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and to interact directly with clients, colleagues, adversaries and the Courts. We are seeking a self-starter who takes pride in their work, meets deadlines consistently, and is committed to continuous improvement. Must be licensed to practice in the State of New Jersey.
