Please independently verify any critical information before relying on it. Description A growing, collaborative law firm is seeking a Associate Labor Attorney to join its expanding practice. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with experienced attorneys and leadership, representing municipalities, school districts, and public entities on labor, employment, and related litigation matters.
Compensation & Benefits:
Base salary range: $120,000 - $155,000 Performance-based bonus opportunities Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance Retirement benefits Paid time off Firm-sponsored events and networking opportunities
Qualifications:
J.D. from an accredited law school Active admission to the New Jersey Bar (required) New York Bar admission is a plus 2+ years of legal experience, ideally with exposure to labor & employment or public sector law Experience working with municipalities, school districts, or public entities is a plus
Responsibilities:
Arbitrate labor disputes and defend civil matters Provide legal counsel to municipalities, Boards of Education, and school administrators on labor and employment issues Research and prepare memoranda on education law, labor law, and municipal matters Draft pleadings, motions, trial briefs, appellate briefs, and legal correspondence Prepare resolutions and documents for school district leadership and public entities Render day-to-day legal advice to district administrators, boards, and public sector clients Assist in preparing for hearings, including: Witness preparation Reviewing documents and student records Drafting settlement agreements Collaborate with attorneys across litigation, municipal, and education law practice areas Manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
