Attorney - Healthcare Transactions (Medicare/Medicaid)We are a full service law firm delivering strategic, business focused legal counsel across a wide range of practice areas, including corporate law, litigation, real estate, bankruptcy and creditors rights, intellectual property, and employment law. Position OverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented, client-focused Attorney to support transactional and regulatory matters for healthcare clients. The Attorney will advise on Medicare and Medicaid issues, draft and negotiate agreements, conduct regulatory and transactional due diligence, and help clients navigate compliance and reimbursement risk. The ideal candidate combines strong transactional skills with practical knowledge of healthcare law and regulatory programs.

Key ResponsibilitiesAdvise healthcare clients on Medicare, Medicaid and other reimbursement and regulatory issues.

Draft, review and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, including service contracts, provider agreements, purchase and sale agreements, leases, and vendor contracts.

Lead and support corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and asset purchases related to healthcare providers and health plans.

Perform regulatory and transactional due diligence and prepare legal memoranda outlining risks and mitigation strategies.

Counsel clients on compliance with federal and state healthcare laws and regulations, including Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, HIPAA and state analogues.

Coordinate with clients, outside counsel, consultants and regulators to resolve transactional and compliance matters.

Manage case files and transaction timelines, ensuring accuracy, documentation and timely communication with clients and stakeholders.

Provide training and practical guidance to clients and internal teams on healthcare regulatory changes and operational implications.

Supervise and mentor junior attorneys and paralegals as needed, and contribute to business development efforts.

QualificationsJuris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active admission to at least one state bar.3+ years of experience practicing transactional healthcare law.

Proven experience drafting, negotiating and closing commercial contracts and healthcare-related transactions.

Strong knowledge of federal and state healthcare regulatory frameworks, including Medicare and Medicaid program rules, Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute and HIPAA.Excellent legal research, analytical and written communication skills, with attention to detail.

Ability to manage multiple matters and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.

Experience working with healthcare providers, health systems, payors or health plans preferred.

Demonstrated client-service orientation and ability to translate legal issues into practical business solutions.

Comfortable supervising junior staff and contributing to practice development and client outreach.
