Job Overview We are seeking an experienced and motivated Real Estate Counsel, (Senior Counsel or Of Counsel), to join our legal team. In this pivotal role, you will lead legal matters related to real estate transactions, property management, and compliance. Your expertise will support our strategic growth initiatives, ensuring all real estate activities align with regulatory standards and company objectives. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence key projects and collaborate across departments to drive success. Duties. About the Role As Counsel, you will step into high-impact, sophisticated work for premier clients while benefiting from our company' robust resources, cross-office collaboration, and strong national platform.
You will represent:
Developers Owners and investors REITs Lenders Corporate occupiers …across industrial, office, retail, multifamily, mixed-use, community facilities, and data center projects. Core Responsibilities Draft and negotiate purchase and sale agreements, commercial leases (including ground and triple-net), build-to-suit leases, development agreements, joint venture agreements, and related real estate contracts. Lead due diligence, including title and survey review, zoning, and land-use analyses. Coordinate and close acquisitions, dispositions, financings, and development transactions. Manage workstreams and ensure timely, high-quality deliverables. Mentor junior lawyers and contribute to a collaborative, client-focused team environment. Position Requirements Personal Attributes Exceptional written and oral communication skills. Strong analytical capabilities and comfort with complex real estate structures. Proven ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment. Collaborative mindset with a commitment to outstanding client service. Proactive approach to mentoring and team support. Technical Qualifications 10+ years of sophisticated real estate transactional experience. Experience at a major national law firm is required.
Demonstrated experience with:
o Acquisitions and dispositions o Build-to-suit leasing (industrial/data center preferred) o Ground leases and complex commercial leases o Zoning, entitlements, and land-use matters o Coordinating closings and negotiating complex documentation Experience mentoring junior attorneys is preferred. Other Requirements Must be licensed and in good standing in the state where the candidate will practice. Submission of a resume, law school transcript, and deal sheet is required.
