Job Description

Description LIFE Trusts is seeking a skilled and compassionate Attorney to join our team. In this role, you will provide legal assistance and representation to individuals and families facing foreclosure, helping them explore options to retain their homes and avoid eviction. You will work closely with clients, community partners, and government agencies to advocate for homeowners' rights and provide effective legal solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide legal counsel and representation to clients facing foreclosure proceedings. Advocate for clients in negotiations with lenders, mortgage servicers, and courts. Assist clients in exploring foreclosure-prevention options, such as loan modifications, refinancing, or government programs. Prepare and file legal documents related to foreclosure cases. Educate clients about their legal rights and available resources. Collaborate with community organizations and agencies to support clients' housing stability. Stay informed about changes in foreclosure laws and regulations. Maintain accurate case records and documentation. Requirements Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Admission to the state bar and in good standing. Excellent negotiation, communication, and client advocacy skills. Ability to manage a caseload effectively and meet deadlines. Commitment to serving low-income or vulnerable populations. Demonstrated professionalism and ethical standards. Ability to appear in person at Nassau Supreme Court. Training will be provided
