Job Description

About Us We are not your typical law firm—and we are proud of that. We are a forward-thinking law firm that blends the strength and experience needed to tackle complex legal challenges with creative analysis. Our team blends legal strategy with a human approach, always keeping the client's broader picture in focus. At the core of our approach is a commitment to proactive, preventive lawyering—empowering our clients to navigate problems and, ideally, avoid costly issues before they emerge. Our firm is built on a foundation of integrity, collaboration, and clear communication, ensuring that our clients' needs are always understood and prioritized. We don't just use technology; we embrace it. By combining cutting-edge legal strategies and technology with a relentless drive for success, we offer a client-centric experience that is as dynamic as it is effective. The Role Westfall Law is seeking an Estate Planning and Real Estate Attorney who is excited to be part of the action—someone who finds purpose in helping families build a lasting legacy and making a client's most difficult transitions a little easier. In this role, you won't just be drafting documents; you will be a strategic counselor. You will work directly with clients to understand their vision for the future and develop tailored legal solutions that protect their assets, preserve their values, and secure their family's well-being. If you appreciate variety and want to feel genuinely energized about the impact of your work, this is the opportunity for you. You will also conduct in-person real-estate closings.
Key Responsibilities Comprehensive Planning:
Design and draft sophisticated estate plans, including Wills, Revocable and Irrevocable Trusts, Powers of Attorney, Healthcare Proxies, and Living Wills.
Proactive Counseling:
Conduct deep-dive client consultations to identify "essential interests," family dynamics, and potential future conflicts to provide preventive legal solutions.
Asset Protection:
Advise clients on estate tax minimization strategies, special needs planning, and asset protection.
Business Succession:
Collaborate with our business law team to assist clients with business succession planning
Technology Integration:
Utilize modern drafting software and practice management tools to ensure efficiency and a seamless client experience.
Case Management:
Manage files from initial intake through signing and funding, ensuring no detail is overlooked.
Ideal Candidate Strategic & Curious:
You don't just fill in templates. You look at the "broader picture" and enjoy the puzzle of complex planning.
Compassionate:
You understand that estate planning is deeply personal and can be emotional. You are professional and empathetic with clients navigating these life transitions.
Tech-Forward:
You embrace digital tools to work smarter, not harder.
Communicator:
You have excellent written and verbal communication skills and can explain complex legal concepts in a way that is accessible to clients.
Cultural Fit:
You are organized, proactive, and bring a sense of focus—and a sense of humor—to the office. Ability to work within our (awesome) estate-planning and real-estate teams is mandatory
Licensure:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and admission to the New York State Bar (in good standing).
Why You Will Love Working With Us Visible Impact:
You will work on cases that matter—helping people protect what they've spent a lifetime building.
A Great Environment:
You will join a team that values collaboration and integrity.
Growth & Mentorship:
You will have access to mentorship from senior attorneys and the autonomy to manage your own client relationships.
Work-Life Balance:
We offer a workplace that genuinely understands the value of balance.
