Job Description

Please read the entire job posting before applying. The Long Law Firm is a small, growing boutique law firm that primarily represents businesses and municipalities. Our work is divided between an insurance defense litigation practice that primarily represents municipal entities, and a transactional practice that represents startups and tech oriented businesses on a variety of different matters. We are hiring a litigation associate to assist in the litigation practice. The position will primarily focus on defending various tort litigation on behalf of municipal clients. Cases vary from motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, defending constitutional claims, property damage, etc. Successful applicants MUST be admitted to practice in New York or expect to be admitted in the foreseeable future (i.e., you recently took the bar exam or have applied for reciprocal admission). We work as a team, and case handling is typically very collaborative between the managing partner, associates and staff. Our main office is in downtown Syracuse and we have a small office in downtown Ithaca. We aim to treat employees fairly, and work collaboratively in an atmosphere of mutual respect. And we try to have fun every once in a while too. The ideal candidate will be a friendly, helpful person who is engaged in their work and is eager to be a team player.
