Assistant Prosecuting Attorney - Felony Division

The Mahoning County Prosecuting Attorney is seeking a Full-Time assistant prosecuting attorney for the Felony Division. Applications must be submitted though the instructions on the Mahoning County Prosecutor's Office Website.

Requirements for the position include:

the applicant must be licensed to practice law in the State of Ohio and be in good standing; must have excellent research and writing abilities, must possess good communication and interpersonal skills, must possess a strong sense of professional accountability, have strong work ethic, and have impeccable integrity. Applicants must also be able to pass a criminal background check through the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation & Identification and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Duties and responsibilities for an assistant prosecutor include, but are not limited to: attending court proceedings, as necessary; prosecuting and disposing of felony cases; preparing felony cases for pretrial and trial; conducting felony trials; preparing felony cases for and conducting suppression and other pretrial hearings; preparing and reviewing search warrants; conducting plea negotiations; performing legal research; analyzing legal issues; preparing and reviewing legal documents, reports, and correspondence; researching and drafting motions and memoranda in response to defense motions; interviewing witnesses, victims, and law enforcement officials. Compensation range is $72,000-$93,000, and will be commensurate with a candidate's years practicing law and experience. Full-time employees are eligible for a comprehensive benefits package including medical insurance, benefit leave, paid holidays, and retirement benefits through the Ohio Public Employees' Retirement System. This position is eligible for insurance benefits on day of hire.
