Job Description
Junior AttorneyPosition OverviewWe are seeking a motivated Junior Attorney to join our firm and support a broad range of litigation and transactional matters. The successful candidate will assist senior attorneys on cases involving complex litigation, support transactional work including corporate governance and contract drafting, and contribute to high-quality client service. This role offers hands-on experience, mentorship, and opportunities for professional growth.
Key ResponsibilitiesConduct legal research and draft memoranda, briefs, pleadings, motions, and other court filings under the supervision of senior attorneys.
Support complex litigation matters through document review, discovery management, e-discovery coordination, witness preparation, and trial preparation tasks.
Assist with transactional matters including due diligence, drafting and negotiating contracts, corporate filings, and advising on corporate governance and compliance issues.
Prepare and organize case files, maintain matter calendars, and ensure timely submission of filings and correspondence.
Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and external vendors in a professional manner; participate in client meetings and calls as needed.
Collaborate with partners and associates to develop case strategy, identify legal issues, and prepare for hearings, arbitrations, and closings.
Manage multiple assignments and deadlines, accurately track time and billable hours, and contribute to firm business development and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
Participate in professional development activities, pro bono matters, and continuing legal education to expand practice expertise.
QualificationsJuris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and admission to (or eligibility for admission to) the state bar.2+ years of legal experience preferred; internships or clerkships in litigation, transactional, or corporate settings are a plus.
Familiarity or experience with complex litigation, transactional law, and corporate law is highly desirable.
Strong legal research, analytical reasoning, and writing skills; demonstrated ability to prepare clear, persuasive legal documents.
Practical knowledge of discovery processes and e-discovery tools, and experience with contract drafting and review.
Proficiency with legal research platforms (e.g., Westlaw or Lexis), case management software, and standard office applications.
Excellent interpersonal skills, professional demeanor, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Ability to manage competing deadlines, prioritize work effectively, and maintain confidentiality and ethical standards.
