MUNICIPAL LAW ATTORNEY
Position Overview Appel Yost LLP, Lancaster, PA is seeking a highly qualified and motivated attorney to join its legal team as a Municipal Law Attorney . This position provides comprehensive legal counsel and representation to municipal officials, departments, boards, authorities, and commissions on a wide range of local government matters. Key Responsibilities:
Advise elected officials, boards, and staff on municipal law, governance, and regulatory matters. Draft, review, and revise ordinances, resolutions, contracts, intergovernmental agreements, policies, and other legal documents. Represent the municipality in administrative proceedings, litigation, and negotiations. Provide legal guidance regarding public records, open meetings, ethics, procurement, zoning, land use, employment, and constitutional issues. Attend and provide legal counsel at meetings of the governing body, boards, commissions, and committees. Monitor changes in federal, state, and local laws affecting municipal operations and recommend appropriate actions. Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school. Active license and in good standing with the Pennsylvania Bar. Prior experience in municipal, local government, administrative, land use, or public sector law preferred. Strong legal research, writing, negotiation, and oral advocacy skills. Ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide practical, solution-oriented advice. Ability to manage multiple matters effectively and independently. Pay:
$90,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year Benefits:
