The ideal candidate will have substantial experience advising employers on union-related issues, including collective bargaining, grievance administration, labor arbitrations, unfair labor practice charges, and proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB). Candidates should also be comfortable handling issues arising under the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA), union organizing campaigns, and workplace investigations involving represented employees. In addition to labor law expertise, candidates should have experience with a range of employment law matters such as workplace discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wrongful termination. Litigation experience should include drafting pleadings, managing discovery, and preparing and arguing motions. Experience taking and defending depositions, handling arbitrations, and appearing in administrative hearings is highly valued.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Advising employers on labor relations strategy and union avoidance Representing management in collective bargaining negotiations and labor disputes Handling grievances, arbitrations, and NLRB proceedings Providing day-to-day counseling on workforce management in unionized environments Drafting and reviewing workplace policies and procedures Delivering employee and management training programs The successful candidate will be detail-oriented and possess a strong work ethic, along with excellent writing, analytical, communication, and research skills.
