Job Description:
A growing corporate legal department is seeking an experienced Associate Counsel - Employment & Litigation to support employment law, HR investigations, litigation management, and general corporate legal matters. This is a highly visible role offering direct partnership with senior leadership and the opportunity to work across a wide range of legal and business issues in a collaborative, fast paced environment. This hybrid position is based in Reading, PA, with three in office days per week.
Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a trusted legal advisor on labor and employment matters across the organization
  • Lead and support internal investigations involving HR and employment related issues
  • Manage employment related disputes, litigation, and outside counsel relationships
  • Review, draft, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements and legal documents
  • Partner with business leaders and HR to provide practical, risk based legal guidance
  • Assist with corporate compliance initiatives, policies, and regulatory matters
  • Conduct legal research related to federal, state, and international laws and regulations
  • Support the use of AI and emerging legal technologies to improve efficiency and workflow processes
  • Provide guidance to legal support staff and collaborate closely with internal stakeholders across departments
Qualifications:
  • J.D. degree and active bar admission in good standing
  • 3+ years of experience practicing labor and employment law
  • Experience handling workplace investigations, employment counseling, and litigation matters
  • Strong contract review and drafting skills preferred
  • Excellent communication, writing, and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a business focused environment
  • Comfortable partnering with executives, HR professionals, and outside counsel
