Job Description

The Junior Associate Attorney will support the firm's practice areas of estate planning, probate, litigation, business law and fractional general counsel services. This role is ideal for an early-career attorney seeking hands-on experience in a collaborative small-firm environment, working closely with an experienced attorney and directly with clients. The Junior Associate will assist in conducting legal research, drafting and filing legal documents, managing client communications, and supporting ongoing transactional and advisory matters. This position requires a highly detail-oriented individual who is innovative and has a self-starter attitude.
Key Responsibilities:
Estate Planning and Administration Draft wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and other estate planning documents under attorney supervision. Assist in estate and trust administration, including preparing probate filings and related documentation. Conduct client interviews and maintain client communication to ensure efficient and timely completion of estate planning matters. Civil Litigation Assist in all phases of civil litigation, from case inception through trial and appeal. Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, pleadings, motions, and briefs. Prepare and respond to written discovery, including interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admission. Review, analyze, and organize case documents, including medical records, contracts, and business records. Support deposition preparation, including drafting outlines and summarizing transcripts. Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, expert witnesses, and court personnel. Assist in trial preparation, including exhibit organization, witness preparation, and trial binders. Track case deadlines and ensure compliance with court rules and procedural requirements. Business Law and Transactions Assist in forming and maintaining business entities, including LLCs, corporations, and partnerships. Draft and review contracts, operating agreements, shareholder agreements, and related business documents. Support attorneys in due diligence, business sales, and succession planning matters. Fractional General Counsel Services Provide ongoing legal support to small business clients as part of the firm's fractional general counsel program. Research legal issues affecting client operations, compliance, and employment matters. Prepare and maintain templates, client guides, and other resources to support efficient client service delivery. Client Relations and Firm Development Participate in client meetings, conferences, and presentations. Maintain a professional, organized, and responsive approach to client service. Contribute to firm marketing and educational initiatives, including writing articles, assisting with seminars, or developing client communications.
Required Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school. Admitted to practice law in the State of Pennsylvania, and in good standing with the PA State Bar Association.
Required Experience:
2-3 years of legal experience, preferably in estate planning, probate, business law, or litigation. Prior internship, clerkship, or associate experience in a law firm setting preferred.
Required Skills and Competencies:
Strong drafting, research, and analytical skills. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. High attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple projects, and track and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications. Client-focused mindset with a commitment to professionalism and integrity.
