Experience Level Junior Associate (0-2 years) About the Practice We are a law firm focused on highly regulated industries, including: Cannabis and hemp Dietary supplements and FDA-regulated products Tobacco and nicotine products Alcohol and controlled distribution markets Our practice operates at the intersection of law, regulatory strategy, and business advisory, helping clients not only remain compliant, but also launch, scale, and expand into new jurisdictions and product categories. In addition to traditional legal services, we actively support clients in: Multi-state expansion initiatives Regulatory positioning for new product launches Risk mitigation in emerging and gray-area markets We are currently expanding into new and emerging regulated industries and developing an AI-backed compliance platform designed to modernize how companies manage regulatory risk. Role Overview This role is designed for a junior attorney seeking to grow and build a high-value, specialized practice in regulated industries. You will work closely with senior attorneys on a mix of: Regulatory advisory Compliance strategy Business expansion initiatives Administrative and litigation (minimal) Corporate Zoning Key Responsibilities 1. Litigation & Enforcement Support Assist in all phases of litigation, including: Drafting motions, pleadings, and legal memoranda Conducting regulatory and case law research Managing discovery and document review Managing deadlines Support matters involving: Regulatory enforcement actions 2. Regulatory Advisory & Research Conduct research and analysis across: FDA (food, supplements, inhalation products) USDA (hemp compliance) State cannabis and controlled substance frameworks Other state and local laws and regulations Assist in preparing: Client advisories Risk assessments Regulatory positioning strategies Tracking federal and state laws and rules 3. Product Compliance & Market Entry Review and analyze: Product labeling and packaging Marketing and advertising claims (FDA/FTC risk) Ingredient and formulation compliance Support clients in bringing products to market compliantly 4. Expansion & Strategic Advisory Assist with multi-state and multi-market expansion initiatives, including: Licensing strategy Regulatory mapping across jurisdictions Market entry risk analysis Work on matters involving new and evolving regulatory frameworks 5. Enforcement Response & Crisis Management Support responses to: FDA and state agency Warning Letters Regulatory inspections and audits Product recalls and compliance failures 6. Commercial & Regulatory Contracting Draft and review agreements such as: Manufacturing and co-packing agreements Distribution agreements White-label and private label arrangements Incorporate regulatory risk allocation and compliance safeguards 7. Innovation & Platform Development (Unique to This Role) Contribute to the development of an AI-backed compliance platform, including: Regulatory issue spotting Structuring legal frameworks into scalable systems Assist in translating legal analysis into repeatable compliance tools Required Qualifications J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school Florida Bar admission (or pending) 0-2 years of legal experience (including internships or clerkships) Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated interest and/or exposure to: Cannabis or hemp law FDA or dietary supplement regulation FTC advertising compliance Interest in emerging industries and non-traditional legal practice models Strong legal writing ability (writing sample required) Core Competencies Strong analytical and research skills Ability to navigate complex, evolving regulatory frameworks Commercial awareness and business-oriented thinking Adaptability in a fast-growing, entrepreneurial environment Growth & Advancement This role offers a growth path for candidates who perform well.
