Associate Attorney

Duffy Law Firm in Rapid City, South Dakota, a boutique law firm specializing in criminal defense, family and immigration law, is looking to hire an attorney who craves courtroom experience, particularly in the area of criminal defense. This position provides the chosen applicant with the opportunity to train and learn from experienced trial lawyers while being expected to garner extensive courtroom experience in the beautiful Black Hills. Scope This is a salaried position with a path to partnership. Job Essentials Represents clients in court on an almost daily basis. Makes jail visits in the Pennington County Jail. Provides support on legal issues in criminal and family law issues. Works under the direction of the senior attorneys in the firm. Reads, writes, analyzes and interprets legal documents. Produces clear and concise written materials. Communicates clearly and effectively in verbal interactions. Conducts legal research. Provides sound and prompt legal service and opinions. Ensures compliance with laws and regulations. Minimum Qualifications Must have a Juris Doctor degree and be admitted to the South Dakota State Bar. Degree must be obtained through an accredited institution. Education is verified. Successful applicant will be expected to handle a significant amount of courtroom work.
