We handle complicated workers' compensation issues by pushing the limits of existing case law, creating new law, and rethinking programs and procedures that have been in place for decades. What you'll do Conduct thorough legal research using tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw to support case development and legal analysis Draft and review a variety of legal documents including pleadings, memoranda, and correspondence with precision and clarity Assist in managing litigated cases from inception through resolution by mastering hte applicable law, vigorous cross-examination of experts, and focused strategies prepared in coordination with our clients. Evaluate case strategies, exposures, settlement options and complciations and prepare for related hearings, depositions, mediations and other file events. Maintain organized case files and ensure all legal administrative tasks are completed accurately and timely Collaborate with some of most experienced lawyers in the field and learn to take control of complex projects involving cutting edge legal issues at trial and on appeal. Skills Strong knowledge of Pennsylvania Workers' Compensation Practice and Procedure. At least some experience taking depositions of fact witnesses and experts, and familiarity with medical terminology, with particular emphasis on prescription drugs and durable medical equipment. Proficiency in legal research platforms such as LexisNexis and Westlaw to gather relevant case law and statutory information Excellent writing skills for drafting clear and persuasive legal documents Effective negotiation skills to advocate for clients' interests during settlement discussions or contractual negotiations Solid understanding of legal procedures and administrative processes within a busy law office environment Ability to analyze complex legal issues quickly and provide well-reasoned recommendations Although this office is new, the practioners involved have long and deep experience earning the respect of judges, opponents and colleagues and years of knowledge to transmit to the next generation of attorneys. Pay:
