Overview:

Godfrey, Leibsle, Blackbourn & Howarth, S.C. ("Godfrey Law"), a Walworth County, Wisconsin law firm seeks a full-time associate attorney for its real estate, municipal law and business team. Godfrey Law's primary practice areas are civil litigation, general business/corporate, real estate and estate planning. Applicants must be licensed and in good standing with the Wisconsin State Bar. 3L students graduating in Spring 2026 are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities:

The position will primarily require working in the following areas: real estate transactions, development, zoning, land use and entitlement, as well as performing legal research, preparing memorandum's, drafting contracts, forming business entities, and participating in mergers and acquisitions. The associate will work directly with experienced Godfrey Law partners, gaining experience and growing their own client base.

Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school; or 3L law student graduating in Spring 2026 with admission to the state bar.

Experience:

No experience in business and real-estate law required, but previous work or internship experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

Good communication skills, both written and verbal Strong legal research skills, including familiarity with Westlaw Strong attention to detail Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality Demonstrated ability in successfully completing tasks Strong teamwork skills Effective multitasking and prioritization skills Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Ability to work in-person at the law firm's office in Elkhorn, WI, Monday to Friday, with potential remote work opportunities.
