The ideal candidate will manage a diverse caseload, support trial preparation, handle depositions, and collaborate with partners to develop legal strategies that achieve favorable outcomes for clients. This role requires strong litigation experience, excellent writing and advocacy skills, and the ability to work independently while contributing to a collegial team environment. Open to on-site, hybrid or remote for the right candidate. Offices in El Segundo and Mission Viejo. Key Responsibilities Manage a docket of civil litigation matters from intake through resolution, including case assessment, strategy development, and settlement negotiation. Draft, review, and file pleadings, motions, briefs, settlement agreements, and other court documents while ensuring adherence to rules and deadlines. Conduct and respond to written discovery, coordinate document review and production, and organize case files and evidence for trial. Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts; prepare witnesses and coordinate with court reporters and opposing counsel. Appear in court for hearings, motion practice, case management conferences, and trial as required. Prepare trial materials, coordinate with experts and investigators, and assist in trial strategy and presentation. Communicate directly with clients to provide updates, counsel on legal options, and respond to inquiries in a timely and professional manner. Collaborate with partners and colleagues to develop case strategy, share legal research, and mentor junior staff when appropriate. Maintain accurate timekeeping and billing records; comply with firm policies, professional responsibility standards, and court rules. Paperless office Qualifications Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and admission to the state bar in good standing. 2+ years of civil litigation experience preferred; litigation experience may include handling motion practice, depositions, and courtroom appearances. Proven experience with depositions taking, defending, and preparing witnesses and comfort with courtroom advocacy. Demonstrated legal research and writing skills, including drafting persuasive motions and briefs. Strong analytical, negotiation, and client counseling abilities with excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to manage multiple matters, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work both independently and as part of a team. Familiarity with e-filing systems, case management platforms, and Microsoft Office; experience with document review platforms is a plus.
Nice to have:
