Civil Litigation Attorney Columbia, MO | Hybrid We are seeking a motivated and experienced Civil Litigation Attorney to join our growing practice. The successful candidate will manage a diverse caseload involving personal injury defense, insurance coverage, trucking liability, and premises liability defense matters. This position offers the opportunity to handle cases from inception through resolution while working in a collaborative and professional environment. Responsibilities Represent clients in civil litigation matters through all phases of litigation, including discovery, depositions, mediations, court hearings, and trial Develop and implement effective case strategies Conduct legal research and analyze complex legal issues Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, and other legal documents Prepare and respond to written discovery Interview clients, witnesses, and experts to support case development Negotiate settlements and participate in alternative dispute resolution proceedings Attend court appearances and advocate on behalf of clients before judges and arbitrators Manage case files, deadlines, and litigation calendars Collaborate with colleagues, clients, and support staff to achieve favorable outcomes Qualifications Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school Active license to practice law in the applicable jurisdiction Experience handling civil litigation matters from inception through resolution Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills Excellent drafting skills with the ability to prepare clear, persuasive legal documents Experience taking and defending depositions preferred Trial experience is a plus Strong negotiation and advocacy skills Ability to effectively manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills Experience ideally within personal injury defense, insurance coverage, trucking liability, and premises liability defense.
