The successful candidate will manage a high-volume bankruptcy caseload, provide strategic guidance to lender and creditor clients, and appear in court proceedings. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and excellent communication skills. Responsibilities/Duties Responsible for all stages of the Bankruptcy process in Massachusetts and before the US Bankruptcy court. Represent clients in other New England States as needed and where admitted. Represent secured creditors in Chapter 7, Chapter 11, and Chapter 13 bankruptcy cases. Draft and review motions including motions for relief from stay, proofs of claim and other bankruptcy pleadings. Conduct online legal research and apply the Bankruptcy Code, Federal Rules of Bankruptcy Procedure, and Massachusetts local Bankruptcy Rules. Demonstrate exceptional writing and verbal communication skills. Communicate effectively with clients and trustees, advising on case strategy and potential outcomes. Negotiate with opposing counsel to achieve final resolution of cases. Attend various legal proceedings, including contested and uncontested court appearances in person or remotely. Monitor and apply changes in statutes rules, and case law. Report and track case activity and results in Firm's case management system. Skills/Qualifications Current Admission to the Massachusetts Bar, in good standing is required. Admission to the Massachusetts Federal District Court a plus. Admission to other New England state bars a plus. 1-3 Years experience in bankruptcy, including motion practice in the Bankruptcy Court is preferred. Experience in creditor rights/defense or debt collection is a plus. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills required with an ability to complete work efficiently and accurately within specific time constraints. Must be able to multi-task and adapt to various assignments. Must be able to work independently and manage a busy workload. Must be able to efficiently leverage technology, learn common software platforms used by the Firm including Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook. Must be able to learn various client web-based systems and legal practice software. Conditions of Work Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time. Work the hours as specified in an agreed upon work week schedule that may occasionally exceed 40 hours per week. Work on computers for a significant portion of the day. Significant on-site work presence required for the first 90 days while training, followed by a hybrid work schedule as agreed upon with management. The pay range listed for this position is the annual base salary range the Firm reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is based on several factors that may include seniority, relevant experience, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening.
