Associate Attorney
  • Bankruptcy Training Provided No bankruptcy experience?
No problem. Fairmax Law is hiring a licensed attorney for a fully remote role with bankruptcy training provided. This is a full-time position with competitive pay, steady work, team support, and the opportunity to build a long-term practice in consumer debt relief. This role is a strong fit for an attorney who is organized, communicates well with clients, and wants to build a stable practice in consumer bankruptcy law. You will receive training and support while learning how to handle Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy matters. We offer a steady flow of cases, a supportive team, and a remote work environment without micromanagement. You'll be expected to take ownership of your work, communicate clearly with clients, and grow into managing bankruptcy files from start to finish.

give clients clarity, guidance, and a path forward. We also believe attorneys do their best work when they have real support, clear systems, and the autonomy to manage their responsibilities professionally. Responsibilities As an Associate Attorney, you will be trained to:
  • Advise clients on debt relief options, including Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy
  • Review client financial information and help determine appropriate legal strategies
  • Draft, review, and file bankruptcy petitions, motions, pleadings, and related documents
  • Communicate with clients throughout the case process
  • Appear at hearings, meetings of creditors, and court proceedings as needed
  • Work with support staff to keep cases organized and moving forward
  • Manage deadlines, filings, and client updates
  • Grow into handling bankruptcy files independently from start to finish What We're Looking For The ideal candidate does not need bankruptcy experience, but should have:
  • JD from an accredited law school
  • Active Ohio law license in good standing
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to explain legal issues clearly and professionally to clients
  • Strong organization and attention to detail
  • Comfort working independently in a remote environment
  • Willingness to learn bankruptcy law and court procedures
  • Ability to manage deadlines and follow structured processes
  • A client-focused, practical approach to legal work Preferred Qualifications These are helpful, but not required:
  • Prior legal experience in consumer law, family law, litigation, collections, debt defense, estate planning, or another client-facing practice area
  • Courtroom, hearing, or motion practice experience
  • Experience managing a caseload
  • Interest in building a long-term practice in bankruptcy and debt relief What We Offer
