Debt Settlement & Consumer Resolution About Our Client:
Our client is a rapidly growing consumer-focused law firm specializing in debtor representation across multiple states. They provide legal representation and resolution for clients nationwide while maintaining a collaborative, team-oriented environment.Position Overview:
Our client is seeking an Attorney to oversee Illinois consumer debt settlement matters and support clients through the litigation process. This role is ideal for a newly licensed attorney or recent law school graduate seeking hands-on experience in client representation, settlement negotiations, and case oversight within a high-volume practice environment. The attorney will manage a docket of Illinois cases while working closely with an internal support team consisting of paralegals, negotiators, and legal assistants. The position focuses heavily on reviewing legal responses, negotiating payment resolutions, attending remote hearings/appearances, and guiding cases toward settlement outcomes. Training for the role is less than a week and will take place in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, with long-term flexibility for remote work in Illinois.Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage a docket of Illinois debt settlement lawsuits Review answers, legal responses, and supporting case documentation Negotiate settlements and payment plans with creditor law firms and opposing counsel Attend remote court appearances for debt collection-related matters Communicate with clients regarding case status, settlement options, and resolution strategies Coordinate with internal support staff including paralegals, negotiators, and legal assistants Ensure timely case progression and compliance with state-specific requirements Maintain accurate case records and documentation throughout the litigation and resolution processQualifications:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree required Licensed attorney in Illinois or ability to waive into Illinois through UBE preferred Open to entry-level attorneys and recent law school graduates Strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills Ability to manage a high-volume caseload in a fast-paced environment Comfortable handling client communication and remote appearances Compensation & Benefits Base salary: $80,000- $85,000 (Flexible/Negotiable DOE) Full health and dental benefits, matching 401(k) with 100% match up to 3% and 50% match up to 5% Monday
- Friday schedule (approximately Flex Schedule starting at either 7:30/8:30 AM
- 4:30/5:30 PM)
