Harris Beach Murtha is seeking an associate to join its collaborative Immigration team. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with experienced immigration practitioners across offices and practice areas, advising and representing corporate and individual clients on a broad range of employment based and family based immigration matters. The work is fast paced, detail oriented, and client focused, providing hands on responsibility for preparing and managing complex immigration filings from initial strategy through adjudication before government agencies. The Immigration Associate will have the opportunity to: Prepare a wide variety of business based nonimmigrant petitions, including H 1B, L 1, TN, E, and O 1 filings Prepare immigrant visa petitions, including PERM labor certifications andEB 1, NIW, EB
2, and EB 3 classifications Assist healthcare clients with Schedule A Nurse petitions, J 1 waiver applications, and related immigration matters Advise clients on Form I 9 compliance and E Verify issues Directly represent clients before U.S. government agencies Review and approve immigration petitions, applications, and supporting evidence prior to submission Collaborate with partners and colleagues to provide timely, strategic, and practical immigration counsel Maintain regular communication with clients to ensure they are informed of case progress and developmentsWork Environment and Expectations:
A hybrid work opportunity in one of Harris Beach Murtha's offices Engagement in sophisticated employment based immigration work on behalf of a diverse client base Minimum annual billable requirement of 1800 hours Applications are encouraged and desired if you have: Admission to the New York, Connecticut and/or Massachusetts bar, or eligible for admission via exam or reciprocity Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school Excellent research, writing, and verbal communication skills The ability to function effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities Demonstrated ability to rapidly absorb and analyze new information A high level of professionalism, conscientiousness, and responsibility A positive, flexible, and cooperative attitude Military experience welcome Salary information below will vary depending upon relevant experience for the position and geographic locations.Albany, Buffalo, Ithaca, Rochester, Syracuse, NY:
$145,000•$180,000 Long Island (Uniondale) andWhite Plains, NY:
$150,000•$185,000New York, NY:
