Smith Barid is a client-centered probate and estate planning firm with offices in Savannah and Marietta. Our litigation practice is growing fast, and the attorney who joins us now will help shape what comes next. What you'll do You'll own a real docket — contested estates, will challenges, fiduciary disputes — the kind of work that puts you in front of judges and on your feet in court. Litigate contested probate matters — will caveats, year's support disputes, breach of fiduciary duty claims, accounting actions, undue influence and capacity challenges Represent executors, administrators, trustees, and beneficiaries in Georgia probate courts Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery; take and defend depositions; argue hearings and try cases Run your own caseload with support from experienced paralegals who actually have your back Walk clients through some of the hardest moments of their lives with empathy and clarity What we're hoping you'll bring A JD from an accredited law school and active Georgia bar membership in good standing (South Carolina admission a plus!) At least 2 years of litigation experience — probate, trust, or estate litigation is the dream, but talented civil litigators with a real interest in probate work, we'd love to hear from you Time on your feet in court — at hearings, in depositions, or at trial A solid grasp of the Georgia probate code, or the curiosity to master it fast Sharp writing, clear thinking, and the kind of presence that puts grieving families at ease and keeps opposing counsel honest Comfort owning your work, asking smart questions, and learning out loud Comfort with modern legal tools and cloud-based systems (we're not asking you to fight a fax machine) An eye for detail — in probate, the small stuff really does matter A sense of humor — you'll need it What we offer $100,000 base salary plus performance-based bonuses Health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with employer contribution Generous PTO and paid holidays A defined Accountability Chart seat — you'll know exactly what you own and how you're measured Quarterly Rocks, weekly Level 10 meetings, and a team that actually runs on EOS Our Core Values How we work, how we hire, and how we hold each other accountable: Be Proactive, Stay Curious — Take initiative, seek knowledge, and always look for ways to improve. Think Like MacGyver — Be creative, resourceful, and efficient, solving problems with unconventional solutions. Be a St. Bernard — Always put the welfare of our clients first. Play for the team — Team before self, trust your teammates, do your part to help everyone succeed. What Would Ted (Lasso) Do? — Always be positive, steady and unshakable. These aren't posters in the breakroom. They guide how we hire, review, reward, and — when needed — part ways. Why Smith Barid We're a probate and estate planning firm with deep roots in coastal Georgia and the Lowcountry. We do work that matters for families during some of the hardest moments of their lives — and we do it from an office minutes from one of the most charming downtowns in America. Moss-draped squares, great food, even better neighbors. Our team takes the work seriously and each other lightly. If that sounds like your kind of place, come build something with us. Apply We'd love to meet you. Send your resume, a brief cover letter, and a writing sample (a brief or motion you drafted, redacted as needed) to [hiring email] .
