In this role, you will conduct independent workplace, educational, and misconduct investigations for employers, schools, public agencies, and other organizations throughout Washington and Oregon. You will leverage your legal expertise, investigative judgment, and interviewing skills to gather and analyze evidence, assess credibility, identify relevant facts, and prepare clear, defensible investigative reports. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by helping organizations address complex concerns fairly, professionally, and objectively. Responsibilities Conduct workplace and educational investigations involving allegations of harassment, discrimination, retaliation, employee misconduct, ethics violations, Title IX concerns, and other policy violations. Interview complainants, respondents, witnesses, and other individuals with knowledge of relevant events. Gather, review, and analyze documentary, electronic, photographic, and other forms of evidence. Assess credibility, reconcile conflicting accounts, and identify relevant factual findings. Prepare detailed investigative reports documenting evidence, analysis, findings, and conclusions. Analyze complex factual situations and apply relevant legal standards, organizational policies, and investigative principles. Maintain neutrality, professionalism, and confidentiality throughout the investigative process. Communicate effectively with clients, attorneys, human resources professionals, administrators, and other stakeholders. Manage multiple investigations simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality work product. Assist with client training, business development, and other firm initiatives as needed. Requirements Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Active admission to the Washington State Bar Association or eligibility for admission. Excellent interviewing, writing, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to analyze complex facts, assess credibility, and develop well-supported findings. Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills. Ability to manage sensitive matters with professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with colleagues and clients. Willingness to travel periodically throughout Washington and Oregon for interviews and investigations. Preferred Qualifications Experience conducting workplace, administrative, compliance, civil rights, Title IX, or other fact-finding investigations. Experience in employment law, labor relations, higher education, human resources, compliance, or government investigations. Experience preparing written findings, reports, legal analyses, or investigative summaries. Training through AWI, ATIXA, or similar investigative programs.
Pay:
