Job Description

We are looking for an attorney to join a growing legal practice in North Carolina on a contract basis. This opportunity is well suited for an attorney that is comfortable handling business and commercial matters, with some exposure to real estate-related work. The role offers flexibility with a remote work arrangement, support from an established paralegal team, and the chance to contribute meaningfully to active matters including transactions and dispute-related work.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage assigned legal matters related to business law, commercial issues, and selected real estate matters while working closely with the lead attorney.
  • Review contracts, operating agreements, and related legal documents to identify risk, key obligations, and areas requiring revision or follow-up.
  • Support active mergers and acquisitions work by organizing deal materials, analyzing documents, and advancing tasks needed to keep transactions moving.
  • Assist with arbitration matters by evaluating incoming communications, preparing case materials, and contributing to legal strategy development.
  • Conduct North Carolina legal research and summarize findings in a practical format that helps guide decisions and responses.
  • Draft correspondence, legal analyses, and other work product in response to demands or issues raised by opposing counsel.
  • Carry out substantive legal work independently after receiving direction, ensuring matters continue to progress efficiently despite a high-volume environment.
  • Collaborate with paralegals and other team members in a collegial, relationship-focused firm culture that values communication and mutual support.
