SUMMARY OF THE ROLE

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Contractor to join our dynamic legal team within the fast-paced EdTech industry. This is a contract position that offers the opportunity to work on a broad range of legal matters, supporting the organization's mission to transform education through technology while ensuring compliance, minimizing risk, and enabling business growth. The Contractor will support a wide range of commercial and transactional matters and will work across functional areas. This is a US-based, remote position reporting directly to the company's Chief Legal Officer & General Counsel.

US RESPONSIBILITIES

Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of agreements, including SaaS contracts, software licensing, vendor agreements, and partnership agreements Support the legal team in responding to requests for proposals (RFPs) and customer contractual requirements Conduct legal research on emerging EdTech issues, regulatory updates, and best practices Collaborate with cross-functional teams (sales, product, engineering, HR) to provide timely legal guidance Maintain accurate and organized legal records and databases

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school Licensed and in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar 5-7 years of legal experience, preferably in-house or with a law firm Experience in or in-depth knowledge of standard contractual provisions preferably relating to provision of SaaS services and/or software licensing and relevant privacy terms in the US and abroad for a technology provider. Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills Detail-oriented, superior organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills to collaborate across departments
