BBC International is seeking a Corporate Counsel - Contracts & IP to lead the review, drafting, and management of corporate agreements while overseeing the company's intellectual property portfolio. This role will serve as a key legal partner to the business, ensuring contracts align with strategic objectives, mitigating risk, and supporting global licensing and brand protection initiatives. We are looking for a business-minded attorney who can balance legal risk with commercial goals while providing practical, solutions-oriented guidance. Key Responsibilities include but not limited to: Contracts & Legal Advisory Conduct comprehensive contract review and risk assessment for all business contracts which consist of licensing, distribution, sales representative, marketing, NDA and general business agreements. Verify compliance, insurance, and finance language with internal teams. Ensure contracts align with business requirements and company standards. Distribution agreements (domestic and international) Contract Lifecycle Management Oversee contractual obligations, milestones, deliverables, deadlines, and renewal terms. Implement tracking tools with department leads to monitor contractual commitments. Track GMR, business projections, royalties, amendments, and contract renewals. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance throughout contract lifecycles Distributor & Sales Representative Agreements Issue and manage distributor contracts, extensions, and sales representative agreements. Manage approved account and channel distribution lists with customer service and sales leadership. Ensure active contracts are maintained for all collaboration sales initiatives. Draft and manage agreements for independent (1099) sales representatives Intellectual Property Management Oversee trademark filings, renewals, deadlines, and copyright documentation. Coordinate whitelist/IPR documentation through China counsel. Liaise with external IP, trademark, and patent counsel as needed. Monitor unauthorized use and support enforcement efforts through Redpoints and other programs. Manage owned brand trademark portfolios and international filings. Retail Compliance Coordinate with certain client's legal team on certain accounts and review processes for styles purchased. Ensure retailer compliance approvals are completed in a timely manner. Qualifications Juris Doctor (JD) required 2-5+ years of experience in corporate law, contracts, licensing, and intellectual property. Strong drafting, negotiation, and contract risk assessment experience. Knowledge of trademarks, licensing structures, copyright, and IP enforcement. Excellent communication, organization, interpersonal and project management skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentLocation & Company Benefits:
