In this role, you will provide expert legal counsel on a wide range of employment-related issues, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws. You will play a vital role in advising management on employment policies, handling employee disputes, and supporting litigation efforts. Your expertise will help foster a fair, compliant, and positive workplace environment while navigating complex legal landscapes across various practice areas. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence organizational policies and contribute to a respectful and legally sound workplace. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive legal advice on employment law matters, including workplace discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, and employee rights. Draft, review, and update employment policies, employee handbooks, and related documentation to ensure compliance with evolving laws and regulations. Manage employment disputes by investigating claims, negotiating resolutions, and representing the organization in mediations or administrative proceedings. Conduct legal research using tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw to stay current on relevant case law, statutes, and regulatory changes affecting employment practices. Collaborate with HR and management teams to develop training programs on employment law compliance and best practices. Assist in handling cases involving family law aspects related to employment issues, such as parental leave or workplace accommodations. Support litigation efforts by preparing legal documents, gathering evidence, and coordinating with external counsel when necessary. Maintain meticulous records of all legal activities, correspondence, and case files in accordance with law office standards. Experience Proven experience practicing employment law within a law firm or corporate legal department. Strong background in areas such as labor relations, discrimination law, wrongful termination, and workplace policies. Familiarity with environmental law, immigration law, landlord-tenant law, securities law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, tribal law & regulations, patent law is a plus. Demonstrated ability to conduct thorough legal research using Westlaw or LexisNexis effectively. Excellent writing skills for drafting legal opinions, memoranda, policies, and litigation documents. Experience managing multiple cases simultaneously with strong organizational skills in a fast-paced environment. Prior legal administrative experience is preferred to ensure smooth workflow management.
