Lead and Grow a
High-Impact Family Law Practice Location:
Hybrid - Carol Stream corporate office, DuPage County, and surrounding Chicagoland countiesEmployment Type:
Full-Time Compensation:

About the Opportunity This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned Family Law & Divorce Attorney to take a leadership role within a rapidly growing firm and play a meaningful part in the continued development and expansion of our family law practice throughout the Chicagoland area. We are looking for a confident, experienced, and compassionate attorney who can independently manage complex divorce and family law matters while also helping guide the strategic growth of the department. The ideal candidate is entrepreneurial, client-focused, highly organized, and excited by the opportunity to help build systems, mentor team members, strengthen client experience, and contribute to the long-term vision of the practice. This role offers substantial autonomy, leadership potential, and the opportunity to make a lasting impact within a firm that is actively investing in growth. Key Responsibilities Represent clients in divorce, custody, parenting time, child support, allocation of parental responsibilities, and related family law matters Manage family law cases from intake through resolution Develop legal strategy and guide clients through highly sensitive and emotionally complex matters Prepare and file pleadings, motions, discovery, settlement agreements, and other legal documents Appear in court for hearings, emergency motions, status conferences, contested matters, and trials Negotiate settlements and aggressively advocate for clients when litigation is necessary Communicate clearly and consistently with clients regarding expectations, risks, case strategy, and next steps Collaborate closely with attorneys, paralegals, intake staff, and administrative team members Help lead the continued development and growth of the firm's family law division Assist in improving systems, workflows, client experience, and departmental operations Support mentorship and collaboration within the legal team as the department expands Maintain accurate case management, deadlines, documentation, and client communication Uphold the firm's standards for professionalism, responsiveness, advocacy, and client-centered representation Qualifications Juris Doctor from an accredited law school Active Illinois law license in good standing Significant experience handling family law and divorce matters Strong courtroom and litigation experience Proven ability to independently manage cases from start to finish Experience practicing in Cook, DuPage, Kane, Will, Lake, McHenry, or surrounding counties preferred Criminal defense, traffic, or order of protection experience is a plus Excellent legal writing, negotiation, and communication skills Strong leadership mindset and interest in helping grow a practice area High emotional intelligence, professionalism, and sound judgment Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment Strong organizational and case management skills Schedule Monday through Friday Flexibility required for court appearances, client meetings, deadlines, and urgent matters Hybrid flexibility may be available depending on court schedule and business needsCompensation & Benefits Salary:
