Role Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Attorney to join our Washington D.C. office. This unique hybrid role requires a professional adept at both practicing federal law and applying legal expertise to legislative and policy matters. The ideal candidate will primarily provide legal counsel on federal law and compliance, while also advising clients on policy implications and strategically navigating governmental processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide expert legal counsel to clients on a broad range of federal laws, statutes, and regulations, including compliance and enforcement matters. Advise on complex federal regulatory frameworks and administrative law proceedings. Draft precise legal opinions, memoranda, pleadings, and other documents related to federal law matters. Represent clients in federal administrative proceedings or advise on federal litigation. Conduct in-depth legal and legislative research to analyze proposed federal legislation and regulations, interpreting their potential legal impact on clients' operations and strategies. Advise clients on legislative and policy developments , providing strategic guidance on how to navigate or influence governmental processes from a legal perspective. Maintain strong relationships with relevant congressional staff, agency officials, and industry stakeholders to gather intelligence and facilitate informed legal and policy advice. Bridge complex legal issues with policy considerations, translating legal implications into actionable policy advice for clients.
Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school. Admitted to the D.C. Bar and in good standing is required or eligible for admission. Admission to federal circuits (e.g., U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit) is preferred. 6-8 years of progressive experience practicing federal law, with a strong emphasis on regulatory, administrative, or litigation matters, and/or in the legislative/policy affairs space. Exceptional analytical, research, and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to excel in legal and legislative research. Superior written and verbal communication, negotiation, and advocacy abilities. Fluent in both English and Spanish (written and verbal). Proven ability to prepare accurate and concise reports quickly and efficiently. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Strong interpersonal skills and the capacity to build effective relationships with clients and government stakeholders.
Bonus:
Knowledge and experience in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and/or federal acquisition support.
Bonus:
