About Us The Law Offices of Thomas D. Pamilla, APC is a growing, family-owned immigration law firm based in Fremont, California. For over 17 years, we have proudly represented individuals and families in a wide variety of immigration matters, providing compassionate, personalized, and high-quality legal services. We are seeking a California-licensed Immigration Attorney to join our team as an Independent Contractor. This position is ideal for an attorney who enjoys client interaction, courtroom and agency appearances, and working with a collaborative legal team while maintaining flexibility. Position Overview The primary responsibility of this position is representing clients at USCIS interviews and EOIR Immigration Court hearings throughout Northern California. The attorney will work closely with our legal team to review cases before appearances, advise clients, and ensure they are well prepared for interviews and hearings. Additional legal work may be assigned depending on experience and availability. Responsibilities Represent clients at USCIS interviews, including Adjustment of Status, Naturalization, and other immigration benefit interviews. Represent clients at EOIR Immigration Court Master Calendar and Individual Hearings, as assigned. Meet with clients before interviews and hearings to review testimony and prepare them for proceedings. Review case files and identify legal or factual issues before appearances. Provide legal advice and recommendations to clients. Communicate with our legal staff regarding case strategy and follow-up. Prepare legal documents, motions, briefs, or correspondence when necessary. Maintain accurate records and timely communication regarding assigned matters. Qualifications Active California Bar license in good standing. At least one year of immigration law experience preferred. Experience appearing before USCIS and/or EOIR strongly preferred. Knowledge of removal defense and family-based immigration law is highly desirable. Strong oral advocacy and client communication skills. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating with support staff. Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred. Compensation Competitive compensation based on experience and number of appearances or assigned matters. Flexible schedule. Administrative and paralegal support provided. Work Location This position involves a combination of remote work, travel to USCIS Field Offices, EOIR Immigration Courts, and occasional work from our Fremont office.
