Job Description
Orbach Huff + Henderson LLP is seeking an associate to join its litigation practice representing public entities, law enforcement agencies, and their employees in complex civil litigation matters throughout California. This position is ideal for an attorney seeking sophisticated litigation work, substantial autonomy, direct client interaction, and meaningful courtroom experience within a collaborative and highly respected firm.
Our litigation practice includes:
Public entity defense Constitutional and civil rights litigation Section 1983 and Monell litigation Dangerous condition of public property claims Law enforcement defense Employment and personnel matters Inverse condemnation and infrastructure litigation High-exposure catastrophic injury matters State and federal court litigation Importantly, this is not a traditional insurance-defense practice. The firm does not maintain a volume-based insurance-defense model or assembly-line litigation structure. Instead, attorneys work on sophisticated, high-impact matters involving complex legal issues, significant motion practice, direct client interaction, and meaningful litigation responsibility.Responsibilities The associate will:
Independently manage cases with partner supervision Draft and argue motions, including dispositive motions Handle written discovery and discovery motions Take and defend depositions Prepare cases for mediation, arbitration, and trial Attend court appearances in state and federal court Communicate directly with clients, experts, and opposing counsel Assist with trial strategy and trial preparationQualifications Required:
Active California Bar license Civil litigation experience Strong legal research and writing skills Experience handling motions and discovery independently Excellent analytical and advocacy skillsPreferred:
