Job Description

For over 20 years, we have been representing local governmental entities in all aspects of the law, from Annexations to Zoning.

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Land Use Litigation Attorney to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil litigation, insurance defense, zoning, or municipal land use, excellent analytical skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional client service.

The position has primary responsibility for first chair defense of municipalities involving land use taking and civil rights claims, and also in seeking injunctive relief for substandard structures and zoning violations. The position has heavy involvement in federal courts, and all courts of appeal.
Key Responsibilities:
-Advise assigned cities on all aspects of municipal law, including land use and development matters, subdivision regulations, public improvement districts and other special districts, elections, procurement, open meetings, open records, contracts, franchises, ordinances, legal opinions, and utility matters-Assist clients with negotiating, drafting and editing agreements, real estate transactions, development and reimbursement agreements, impact fee and tax abatement agreements, easements and utility agreements, and Chapter 380 economic development incentive agreements-Draft and amend documents and city codes, including ordinances and resolutions-Work with developers, engineers, and the municipality to provide guidance and direction on new developments, ETJ matters, and annexations-Conduct research on city ordinances and state regulationsQualifications-3+ years of strong background in civil litigation-Juris Doctor-TX Bar Admission-Excellent analytical skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional client serviceJoin our firm and become part of a collaborative environment that fosters professional growth.
