Job Description

Description We are seeking an experienced defense attorney to join our in-house Workers' Compensation team. This role is suited for a seasoned litigator with at least five years of experience, strong communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to independently manage a caseload of high-exposure and complex matters. Trial experience is preferred, along with a solid understanding of workers' compensation law. Requirements Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active admission to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction 5+ years of litigation experience, ideally within insurance defense, workers' compensation, or related practice areas Demonstrated experience across all phases of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, motion practice, court appearances, and settlement negotiations Proven ability to independently manage complex, high-exposure caseloads and develop effective defense strategies Experience leading settlement negotiations and participating in mediations, with strong advocacy and negotiation skills Ability to analyze medical records and integrate findings into claim strategy and litigation approach Strong client-facing skills, with experience advising internal stakeholders or external clients on legal risk and strategy Experience collaborating with TPAs, claims professionals, and outside counsel across multiple jurisdictions is a plus Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex legal concepts into practical guidance Hybrid role based in Beverly, MA, with a minimum of three days per week in the office Must be legally authorized to work in United States.
