Contract Attorney - California Licensed (1099)
Orange County Law Center Santa Ana, California About Orange County Law Center:
Orange County Law Center is a growing California law practice serving individuals, families, and businesses throughout the state. Due to increasing client demand and expanding case volume, we are seeking experienced California attorneys to assist with active, overflow, and referral matters on a contract (1099) basis. This opportunity is ideal for attorneys seeking flexibility, autonomy, and access to a steady stream of cases without the overhead and administrative burden of maintaining a traditional law office.
Position Overview:
We are seeking California-licensed attorneys in good standing with the State Bar of California to work as independent contractors. Attorneys may accept assignments based on their availability, geographic location, and preferred practice areas. Most work can be performed remotely, although certain matters may require court appearances, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, client meetings, or other in-person proceedings. Assignments may be available on a case by case or ongoing basis. Practice Areas Current opportunities include, but are not limited to: Civil Litigation Personal Injury Family Law Business Litigation Contract Disputes Employment Law Criminal Defense ADA Litigation Landlord-Tenant Matters Real Estate Litigation Probate and Trust Litigation General Civil Matters Attorneys with experience in one or more practice areas are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities Draft pleadings, motions, oppositions, replies, discovery, and legal correspondence Conduct legal research and case evaluation Attend hearings, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials as required Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and third parties Manage assigned matters independently from intake through resolution Maintain accurate records and meet all applicable deadlines Provide high-quality legal services and professional representation Compensation & Structure Independent Contractor (1099) Position Flexible scheduling and workload Ability to accept or decline assignments Compensation based on case type, complexity, attorney experience, and scope of work Fee-sharing arrangements available where permitted by California law and ethical rules Direct payor-to-payee distributions may be available in certain matters Attorneys are responsible for their own tax reporting and self-employment obligations Case managers may be assigned to assist with client communications, scheduling, document collection, intake, and administrative support The firm may retain a negotiated percentage of fees for client acquisition, marketing, administrative support, office overhead, staffing, and operational expenses Compensation structures and fee allocations will be discussed and agreed upon before assignment of any case Qualifications Active California Bar License in good standing Strong legal writing, research, and advocacy skills Ability to work independently and manage assigned matters Professional demeanor and excellent communication skills Strong organizational and time-management abilities Reliable, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven What We Offer Flexible schedule Remote work opportunities Steady flow of potential case assignments Administrative and case management support Professional working environment Reduced overhead compared to operating a private practice Opportunity to expand your client base and legal experience Potential for long-term working relationship How to Apply Please contact: Adam G. Office Location:
Santa Ana, California Compensation is negotiable and based upon experience, practice area, complexity of matter, and scope of services provided. Experienced attorneys interested in expanding their practice while maintaining flexibility are encouraged to apply.
Pay:
$110,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
