Job Summary Mattingly Cavagnaro LLP is a boutique family and matrimonial law firm located in Buffalo, New York, seeking a motivated part-time paralegal join our growing team. This position is ideal for an organized professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced legal environment and is looking to gain or expand experience in family and matrimonial law. Our firm practices exclusively in family and matrimonial law, representing clients in divorce, child custody, child support, spousal maintenance, equitable distribution, and other Family Court matters. Our attorneys also serve as Attorneys for the Children, representing children in custody and divorce proceedings. We frequently represent high-net-worth individuals in complex matrimonial matters, offering the opportunity to work on sophisticated and meaningful cases. The successful candidate will work closely with our attorneys to support all aspects of case preparation and client service while helping maintain the efficient operation of the office. We offer a collaborative, supportive work environment with flexible scheduling. Duties and Responsibilities Assist attorneys in preparing for hearings, trials, mediations, and client meetings. Draft, review, and prepare pleadings, correspondence, discovery demands and responses, and other legal documents. Organize, open, maintain, and manage client files, both electronic and physical. Coordinate case calendars, schedule client meetings, court appearances, and deadlines. Communicate professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and other professionals. Assist with client intake and ongoing case management. Answer incoming telephone calls and provide administrative support. Assist with monthly billing and other administrative functions. Perform other legal and administrative duties as assigned. Qualifications Paralegal certificate, paralegal education, legal studies coursework, or other relevant legal training preferred but not required . Prior experience in a law office is preferred but not required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail. Understanding of legal terminology, court procedures, pleadings, and litigation processes. Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines. Professional, dependable, and able to maintain strict confidentiality. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with attorneys, staff, and clients. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel); experience with legal case management software is a plus. Why Join Our Firm?
