Job Description

Job Overview M.A. Per Diem Services, Inc. ("MAPD") is a Legal Support Services Company. We are currently expanding the Per Diem Attorney division of our company and we are seeking dedicated and knowledgeable Per Diem Attorneys to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of various areas of law. This position requires excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. The Attorney will appear on behalf of our Attorney Clients in court proceedings in New York City, Nassau and Suffolk Counties and Upstate New York and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Availability to appear in Staten Island and Bronx County are a plus. This is a Per Diem (when needed) position and selected candidates will be considered 1099 Independent Contractors for our company.
Salary:
Starting at $200 per appearance•Actual amount is dependent upon type of matter Attorney is appearing on. Responsibilities Appear on assignments as scheduled and complete same in accordance with the directives of our Attorney Clients. Review instructions and prepare prior to the start time of each appearance. Maintain professionalism at all times when handling each appearance. Punctuality and responsiveness regarding your assignments. Communicate effectively with both our staff and our attorney clients. Provide MAPD staff with your availability to coordinate appearances. Submit reports promptly following an appearance. Qualifications Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Must be an attorney in good standing with the New York State Bar Association. Must not have any history of disciplinary actions. Minimum of 2 years of litigation experience as a licensed attorney. Candidates must have handled at least 20 court appearances and no less than 10 depositions (if available to cover depositions). Ability to appear in court and/or conduct depositions when needed. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team environment. Federal court admissions are a plus. Experience in Personal Injury matters is a plus. Availability to appear in Staten Island, Bronx County and/or Upstate NY are a plus.
