Job Description

Position:
Public Entity Defense Attorney Location:
Concord, CA •Position can be hybrid or fully remote Public Entity Defense Attorney Our client, a respected and growing California law firm, is seeking a Public Entity Defense Attorney with 2+ years of litigation experience to join their Concord office. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney looking to work on complex and meaningful matters representing public agencies, municipalities, school districts, and other public entities. The ideal candidate will have experience handling civil litigation matters, including discovery, motion practice, depositions, court appearances, and case management. Public entity defense experience is preferred, but candidates with strong civil litigation backgrounds and an interest in the practice area are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities:
Manage a litigation caseload from inception through resolution Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and legal correspondence Conduct legal research and prepare case evaluations and memoranda Attend court appearances, hearings, mediations, and depositions Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and courts Assist with trial preparation and litigation strategy
Qualifications:
J.D. from an accredited law school Active California Bar license and good standing required 2+ years of civil litigation experience Strong research, writing, and analytical skills Experience with discovery, depositions, and motion practice Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment Public entity defense experience is a plus
