Who We Are Edwards Law, PLLC is a growing North Texas law firm based in downtown Rockwall, Texas with a strong focus on real estate law, title operations, probate matters, and estate and business planning. Our firm is committed to providing practical legal solutions, exceptional client service, and maintaining a collaborative, supportive work environment for our team. We are seeking an experienced Texas licensed attorney to join our firm to handle real estate civil litigation and probate litigation matters. The ideal candidate is confident managing cases from inception through resolution, possesses strong communication and courtroom skills, and is comfortable working directly with clients, courts, and opposing counsel. Candidates with at least two years of civil litigation experience are preferred. The Real Estate and Probate Attorney will guide clients through the complexities of the Texas Civil Litigation and Probate System, providing compassionate and efficient legal support during often difficult times. This position reports directly to the firm's Principal Attorney and will offer opportunities for professional growth and mentorship in both real estate and probate practice areas. The composition of duties for this position: 70% Probate - Represent and support clients through the Texas probate process, from application to final distribution, including dependent administrations. 20% Real Estate - Represent and support clients through the civil district courts in matters of real estate partition, suits to quiet title, easement disputes, and more. 10% Networking and Marketing and Administrative Who You Are You are a motivated Texas licensed attorney who thrives in a fast-paced, client-focused environment and takes pride in providing practical, results-driven legal representation. You are confident handling litigation matters, organized in managing deadlines and caseloads, and comfortable communicating directly with clients, courts, title companies, and opposing counsel. The ideal candidate has experience in civil litigation, strong legal writing and courtroom skills, and the ability to work independently while also collaborating with a close-knit legal team. Experience with real estate disputes, probate litigation, title issues, or property-related matters is strongly preferred. You are professional, ethical, dependable, detail-oriented, and looking for a long-term opportunity with a growing law firm that values work-life balance, flexibility, and a positive office culture. Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities Handle probate and trust administration matters, including preparing petitions, court filings, and notices. Handle litigation matters, following the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure, Civil Practices and Remedies Code, Texas Property Code, as well as the Family Code and relevant case law, from petition to final order. Manage the cases through the process of discovery, depositions, mediation, etc. Support clients through the legal processes. Stay current with applicable real estate, estate, tax, and probate laws and best practices. Maintain meticulous records in our case management system and ensure timely follow-up on open matters. Requirements J.D. from an accredited law school. Licensed to practice law and in good standing in Texas. 1-3 years of experience in civil litigation strongly preferred. Strong drafting skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines independently. Commitment to providing high-quality client service with empathy and professionalism. 125 minumum billable hours per month Compensation and Benefits Salary 75,000 - 130,000 Quarterly Bonuses based on firm revenue, and billable hours worked Benefits Package Includes 401k, and opportunity for Medical, Dental, Vision Paid Firm holidays that follow Federal and Court holidays 2 weeks off during Christmas and New Years Unlimited PTO (we work hard so we can spend time with our families when we want to) Hybrid work environment that allows you to work from home when needed, but must have the ability to handle client and case matters in office.
Pay:
$75,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
