We are looking for an experienced Colorado attorney — likely someone with 30 or more years in practice — who is beginning to think about slowing down, transitioning their practice, or retiring over the next several years. This is not a traditional associate or partner hire. This is a structured Of Counsel opportunity designed specifically for established practitioners who have built something real and want to exit the market on their own terms — with their clients taken care of and their professional legacy intact. What This Looks Like in Practice We understand that winding down a practice is complicated. You have long-term clients who rely on you. You may have staff. You have open matters and professional obligations that do not disappear the moment you decide to retire. We have built a transition model that addresses all of that: Work on your timeline — reduce hours and responsibilities gradually over one to three years Remain the relationship contact for your clients while Volpe attorneys are introduced and integrated Maintain an Of Counsel designation, email, and professional presence during the transition Receive compensation structured around the client relationships and work you bring Exit the market cleanly, with your clients in capable hands and your professional reputation protected Practice Areas We Focus On This opportunity is particularly well-suited for attorneys whose practices have centered on: Business law and outside general counsel Commercial real estate transactions Construction law and contractor counsel Contract drafting, negotiation, and transactional work Tax and business advisory services Estate planning for business owners and closely-held businesses Who We Are Looking For You are likely a good fit if most of the following describe you: Licensed in Colorado with 30+ years of practice experience Solo practitioner or small firm owner considering retirement within the next one to seven years Commercial client base with recurring relationships — not high-volume transactional or contingency work No internal successor identified Interested in a gradual transition rather than an abrupt exit Care about what happens to your clients and staff after you step back What Volpe Law Offers Full firm infrastructure: billing, case management, support staff, office space Flexible schedule — you set the pace of transition Of Counsel designation and ongoing professional identity during transition Compensation tied to client retention and ongoing work A firm that will actually know your clients' names A Colorado firm — not a national roll-up or outside ownership group Pay/benefits - the terms will be negotiated.
