The position focuses on families in the trial reunification phase—where children are returning home after time in foster care. The Family Partner ensures the child's safety, promotes family stability, and supports long-term reunification through trauma-informed, strengths-based support. This position includes regular communication with ODHS and participation in safety planning and monitoring in family homes. This position is housed at the Marion & Polk Early Learning Hub (MPELH), which serves as the coordinating backbone for the Safe at Home program. As part of MPELH, the Family Partner will also contribute to volunteer outreach, administrative support, and community engagement efforts that align with the Hub's mission of improving outcomes for children and families. This is a paid, half-time position designed for individuals passionate about child safety, family well-being, and equity in child welfare systems. Duties Direct Family Support Support families engaged in trial reunification as outlined in ODHS safety plans. Conduct home visits as required to ensure child safety and parent adherence to in-home safety plans. Serve as a consistent, compassionate, and respectful support to parents and children. Model and promote trauma-informed, culturally responsive approaches to family support. Act as a mandatory reporter and respond appropriately to safety concerns, including notifying the Oregon Child Abuse Hotline or law enforcement when necessary. Collaboration with ODHS Child Welfare Maintain regular, collaborative communication with ODHS caseworkers regarding assigned families. Understand and follow specific safety threats and conditions outlined in each family's safety plan. Attend case staffings and contribute observations and documentation as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Be available during designated times specified in safety plans to ensure coverage and accountability. Volunteer Outreach & Coordination Identify and connect with potential community volunteers who can provide support services for families Share program information and opportunities at community events, meetings, and through partner organizations. Assist with screening, onboarding, and orienting volunteers in alignment with program policies. Administrative & Program Support Complete timely and accurate documentation for all home visits, family interactions, and volunteer coordination activities. Maintain organized records, schedules, and contact lists for both families and volunteers. Assist in preparing reports, program updates, and data tracking for internal and external stakeholders. Support scheduling of meetings, trainings, and case reviews. Attend regular supervision with the Safe at Home Program Manager and participate in monthly (or more frequent) case reviews. Assist in aligning program services to MPELH's goals.
