Full-Time About the Position Silicon Valley Law Offices is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Family Law Attorney with a minimum of 5 years of California family law experience to join our growing practice in Mountain View. This position is ideal for an attorney who thrives in a collaborative environment, enjoys direct client interaction and is confident managing family law matters from inception through resolution. The successful candidate will independently manage a diverse caseload while working closely with partners and support staff to provide exceptional legal representation and outstanding client service.
Key Responsibilities:
Independently manage a broad range of California family law matters, including divorce, child custody and visitation, child and spousal support, property division, domestic violence restraining orders, and post-judgment proceedings. Represent clients at hearings, case management conferences, settlement conferences, mediations, and trials. Draft pleadings, motions, declarations, discovery requests and responses, settlement agreements, and other legal documents. Conduct legal research and apply applicable statutes, case law, and procedural rules to develop effective case strategies. Advise clients on legal rights, case strategy, risks, and practical solutions with professionalism and empathy. Prepare cases for hearings, mediation, and trial, including witness preparation, evidence organization, and trial strategy. Negotiate favorable settlements while effectively advocating for clients' interests. Collaborate with partners, paralegals, legal assistants, and outside experts to ensure efficient case management and high-quality legal services. Maintain accurate case files, meet court deadlines, and manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of experience practicing California family law. Active member of the California State Bar in good standing. Demonstrated experience independently handling family law cases from commencement through resolution. Strong courtroom experience, including appearances at hearings, settlement conferences and trial. Excellent legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Outstanding written and oral advocacy skills, with the ability to draft persuasive legal documents and present effectively before the court. Strong negotiation skills with a proven ability to achieve favorable outcomes for clients. Exceptional organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities. Compassionate, client-focused approach with the professionalism and judgment required to handle emotionally sensitive matters. Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment. Experience with California court e-filing systems and CLIO software is preferred.
