Special Education Attorney - Bilingual (Spanish/English)

The Law Offices of Phillip Sparks (LOOPS), APC is a well-established and respected legal practice based in Southern California. We practice Special Education; we advocate for children with disabilities to ensure they receive the education and services to which they are legally entitled. LOOPS is passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of our clients and their families.
Job Description:
We are seeking a full-time Bilingual Attorney with Special Education experience to represent children with disabilities. In this role, you will attend Individualized Educational Program (IEP) meetings, mediations, hearings, write complaints and be a crucial member of our legal team. This is a hybrid role; 75% remote and 25% travel.
Responsibilities:
Participate in virtual, telephonic, or in person client meetings; Attend IEP meetings; Communicate with various stakeholders, such as school districts, parents and other attorneys via telephone, email, and/or in person; Attend mediations, hearings and resolution sessions and other meetings; Perform legal research, review client documents, draft legal document and correspondence; Maintain excellent client relationships by way of phone, email and virtual platforms and/or in person; Interface professionally with all members of the firm Prepare for each phase of litigation in a thorough and detailed manner; Assist Attorneys with evolving tasks and responsibilities and substituting in, as needed
Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school. Bilingual (Spanish/English) Active member of the California State Bar. Resides and is located in the Los Angeles or Inland Empire areas. Minimum of 2 years' experience representing clients in Special Education law. Strong knowledge of federal and state laws related to Special Education, including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). Excellent written, communication, negotiation, and advocacy skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a dedicated legal team.
Benefits:
