(Worcester MA) Community Legal Aid & Affiliate - 4.4 Worcester, MA Job Details Full-time $73,000 - $109,000 a year 4 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Vision insurance Loan assistance Qualifications Legal advocacy Conducting community outreach projects Immigration law Law Immigration case experience Mid-level Immigration requirements compliance Haitian Creole Compliance reporting for grants Portuguese Training Immigration support Full Job Description CWJC seeks an attorney to work for the period of one year as part of a vibrant, talented team that provides legal assistance in a range of humanitarian-based immigration law matters, including but not limited to removal defense, VAWA petitions, U and T visas, SIJ petitions, and asylum cases. The attorney will engage in community outreach, including community consultation sessions and know-your-rights trainings, and will assist in the preparation of periodic grant reports. The position is in CWJC's Worcester office.
QUALIFICATIONS
New law school graduates and more experienced lawyers are eligible to apply. Fluency or advanced proficiency in language in addition to English strongly preferred, particularly Spanish, Portuguese or Haitian Creole. Prior experience in immigration law and demonstrated experience working with diverse communities strongly preferred. Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work in a collaborative setting are important.
COMPENSATION
The starting salary for this position is $73,000, which is based on a union scale and adjusted upward depending on experience to a maximum of $109,000.
