This is an opportunity to join a California workers' compensation defense firm managing a caseload of lien files from resolution through legal representation. The Hearing Representative plays a critical role in protecting client interests by negotiating liens, preparing settlement documents, and appearing before judges at key hearings. This role offers broad exposure across legal, medical, and administrative functions within CA workers' comp defense, with strong long-term potential for those who thrive in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage a caseload of lien files, including rating permanent disability under the AMA Guides, reviewing medical records, and applying apportionment principles Prepare and complete settlement documents accurately and in compliance with California Workers' Compensation law Negotiate lien resolutions and provide legal representation on behalf of clients Appear before judges at Mandatory Settlement Conferences, Status Conferences, and Walk-Through settlements Deliver timely client communication and provide written case summaries on a routine basis Collaborate with internal teams to ensure files move efficiently toward resolutionQualifications:
Minimum 3 years of experience as a Hearing Representative in California Workers' Compensation Defense (Required) Working knowledge of California Workers' Compensation law, including AMA Guides, apportionment, and lien resolution Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and outstanding client service Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to independently manage multiple files simultaneously with minimal supervision Highly motivated, results-driven, and able to operate with a sense of urgencyPreferred:
Experience with walk-through settlements and MSC appearances Familiarity with workers' comp defense software or case management platforms Background in insurance defense or third-party administration (TPA) environmentsBenefits:
