We are seeking an Associate Attorney to join our legal team and help drive structured case progression, client care, and pre-suit negotiations. The Opportunity The ideal candidate understands that success in pre-litigation is driven by timely movement, strong client communication, and strategic negotiation—not just legal knowledge. This role is focused on early case development, strategic evaluation, and driving cases efficiently toward resolution prior to litigation. This attorney will work closely with Pre-Litigation Paralegals and other firm departments to ensure each case is positioned for the best possible outcome. What You Will Own Case Evaluation & Strategy Review newly retained cases and develop an early case strategy Evaluate liability, insurance coverage, and damages to determine viability Identify gaps early and provide direction to the team on next steps Demand & Negotiation Working with an assigned paralegal, review and approve demand packages Negotiate with insurance adjusters to maximize case value Provide clear direction on settlement strategy and authority Client Communication Communicate with clients regarding expectations and settlement discussions Step in on complex or sensitive client issues as needed Ensure a high level of client experience throughout the lifecycle of the case Collaboration & Team Leadership Partner with paralegals to manage workflow and case progression Provide clear guidance and accountability to support staff Process & System Utilization Utilize the case management system as the single source of truth for all case activity Ensure accurate case documentation, statuses, and notes Follow firm SOPs and support ongoing process improvements Qualifications Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school Licensed and in good standing in Tennessee (additional states a plus) 1-4 years of personal injury experience preferred (pre-litigation strongly preferred) Strong understanding of liability analysis, insurance coverage, and damages evaluation Experience negotiating with insurance adjusters is a plus What We're Looking For A proactive attorney who keeps cases moving and does not let them sit Strong communicator who is responsive to both clients and team members Someone who is comfortable making decisions and providing direction Detail-oriented with the ability to manage a high-volume caseload Team-oriented mindset with a focus on accountability and collaboration Comfortable working within a structured, process-driven environment Why Join NST Law Established and growing firm with a strong reputation Clear processes and operational support designed for efficiency Collaborative team environment with defined roles and expectations Opportunity to develop strong negotiation and case strategy skills Competitive compensation and benefits package
