In this pivotal role, you will lead efforts to recover outstanding debts, enforce creditor rights, and navigate complex legal processes related to collections. Your expertise will help safeguard our financial interests while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your litigation skills, legal research acumen, and negotiation prowess in a fast-paced environment dedicated to excellence and integrity. Duties Manage and oversee all aspects of debt collection cases, including initiating legal actions and pursuing enforcement remedies. Draft, review, and negotiate settlement agreements, payment plans, and legal documents related to creditor rights. Conduct thorough legal research using Westlaw to stay current on statutes, regulations, and case law affecting collections and creditor's rights. Prepare pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and other legal motions with precision and clarity. Represent the organization in court proceedings, mediations, and arbitration related to collection disputes. Maintain comprehensive case management records using legal case management software; track case progress from initiation through resolution. Conduct procedural law research to ensure compliance with jurisdictional requirements during litigation processes. Engage in negotiations with debtors or their legal representatives to achieve favorable outcomes while preserving professional relationships. Stay informed on developments in statutory legal research relevant to creditor's rights and collection practices. Requirements Juris Doctor (JD) degree; admission to the state bar is required. Proven experience in litigation, particularly within collections or creditor's rights practice areas. Strong knowledge of procedural law, statutory legal research methods, and legal motion preparation. Familiarity with legal research tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw; experience with legal case management systems is preferred. Excellent negotiation skills combined with the ability to draft clear and effective legal documents. Demonstrated research skills across diverse areas of law including statutory legal research and procedural requirements. Strong writing skills for preparing motions, pleadings, reports, and correspondence. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment. Prior experience in a law office setting involving legal administrative tasks is advantageous.
